HealthEquity Community Foundation

The HealthEquity Community Foundation is committed to being a role model and advocate for social stewardship in our communities through our private Foundation for Charitable Giving. We are honored to provide grants in the sum of $2,500.00 to selected organizations. Applications will be accepted through November 15th. 

We know that we can make the most significant impact by using our skills and expertise to stand up against the barriers to healthy, stable, and secure communities. In that spirit, our Corporate Giving Foundation aligns with four core pillars: 

  • Financial Education and Literacy  
  • Health & Medicine  
  • Mental Health and Crisis Support  
  • Basic Human Needs  

If you believe that your organization is in direct service to your community in one or more of the above areas and meets our Standards of Giving (see below), we encourage you to continue the application process.  

HealthEquity Community Foundation Standards of Giving Guidelines 

The following standards are guidelines for philanthropic giving under the HealthEquity Community Foundation: 

  • Receiving non-profit must have 501(c)(3) status  
  • Receiving non-profit must be in good financial standing. The HealthEquity Community Foundation will review the overall financial support of an organization as a factor in our funding decision  
  • The organization must directly provide need-based services 
  • The HealthEquity Community Foundation must and will provide payment directly to receiving organizations  
  • Foundation grants and qualifying contributions are limited to one (1) gift for nonprofit organizations, per fiscal year. If funding is desired in the new fiscal year, a new application must be submitted  
  • Disaster relief eligibility is dependent on meeting criteria in alignment with the IRS designation of a qualified disaster 


The HealthEquity Community Foundation will not provide grants, donations or contributions of any kind in the following areas: 

  • Startup or establishment of a nonprofit organization  
  • Fundraisers to benefit one person or one family  
  • Funding another organization’s foundation, endowment, or scholarship  
  • Travel or conference expenses for individuals or groups  
  • Generally, donations will not be made for programming that supports political or religious activities or religious or political organizations with the purpose of evangelizing 
  • The HealthEquity Community Foundation will not provide donations to support an event that has already occurred 
  • The HealthEquity Community Foundation complies fully with financial transparency laws and industry codes associated with corporate giving  
  • Non-profit organizations that do NOT have a 501(c)(3) tax code  
  • Athletic teams and social groups  
  • Organizations that do not reflect HealthEquity’s mission and values 
  • Organizations that are non-inclusive or discriminatory in their mission and/or practices  
  • The HealthEquity Community Foundation does not donate to for-profit organizations  
  • The HealthEquity Community Foundation will not provide philanthropic or in-kind support of organizations that have a non-inclusive reputation or written policy of discrimination towards a person or group on the basis of race, religion, color, age (40 and older), national origin, sex, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, ancestry, marital status, uniform service member or veteran status, citizenship status, or any other legally protected status
